3D Facial Analysis

Good orthodontic treatment is about more than straightening teeth. Our name - Profile Orthodontics - reflects the value we place on assessing not just your teeth, but the overall shape and profile of your face.

Dr Wholley uses state of the art 3-Dimensional (3D) technologies to conduct facial analysis. A 3D camera linked to a computer maps facial contours and allows for accurate assessment of features such as symmetry, and over time, the growth of the face and jaws. This enhances the ability to assess facial structure, identify areas needing attention and decide the best course of treatment.

What is a 3D camera?

A 3D camera is like your digital camera at home, but it combines the images from six different cameras to create a 3-Dimensional image.

3D Facial Research

Dr Wholley is the first orthodontist in WA to be actively involved in the “Perth Face Space Project” and associated research using 3D technologies. He has presented on this topic at both national and international conferences.
