Meet Dr. Peter Munt

Peter received his dental degree from the University of Western Australia in 1993. He received many clinical and academic prizes, was awarded First Class Honours and graduated as dux of his class. Following a stint in Bunbury, Peter moved to private practice in West Perth where he worked as a general dentist for almost ten years.

Peter was offered a position in the highly competitive Orthodontics programme at the University of Western Australia in 2004, and spent the next three years in full time study completing his Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics. During the programme he was awarded the TP(Australia) Postgraduate Clinical Award for the best clinical case submitted by orthodontic students in all of Australasia. Following graduation, Peter and his family moved to Ireland for 18 months where he was employed as a specialist orthodontist in the Irish Health Service. He subsequently returned to Australia to commence practice at Profile Orthodontics.

Peter is an active member of the specialty and has a strong passion for continuing education. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Dental Study Group of WA, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the World Federation of Orthodontists. He has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.

Peter is also a life member of Equal Health, an Australian-based charity organisation that provides medical, dental and optical aid to third world countries. Peter and his wife, Ellie, have attended several aid trips to India providing dental care to orphans and the underprivileged.

Away from orthodontics, Peter enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and occasionally swinging a tennis racquet or golf club.
