Metal Braces

These are the most commonly used orthodontics appliances. At Profile Orthodontics we use the most advanced metal braces available.

Ceramic Braces

These are translucent tooth coloured braces which are the choice of most adults and are becoming increasingly popular with teenagers. They are very discreet and minimize the appearance of the braces in an image conscious patient. They move the teeth exactly the same as metal braces.

Plates

Some orthodontic correction in young children can be undertaken using a removable appliance, which is called a plate. These are mostly used in the upper dental arch and may also be used to alter the relationship between the upper and lower jaws.

Expansion Appliances

These are used when the upper jaw is too narrow and prevents normal closing of the lower jaw. These appliances are attached to the upper first molar teeth and activated gradually to achieve the correct width of the upper dental arch.
