Meet Dr. Chris Wholley
Dentistry has taken Chris to many places.
After completing his 5 year dental degree at the University of Western Australia in 1990 as a 21 year old, Chris headed to the South West region of WA for 8 years. He established the Collie River Dental Centre, providing a broad range of treatment from trauma management to implants. In 1995, he completed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons' exams held at University of Sydney. This background proves useful when integrating orthodontic treatment with other dental treatment.
In 1999, Chris was selected into the University of Melbourne specialist program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. During 3 years of full-time study, he travelled as a visiting postgraduate to University Orthodontic departments and conferences in Australia, Auckland, Los Angeles, Chicago, Connecticut and Boston.
Chris returned to Perth with his family in late 2001, to commence specialist orthodontic practice at Profile Orthodontics.
At the local, national and international level, Chris has been involved in both organising and presenting at dental and orthodontic conferences and meetings. His 2004 research article in the US journal Angle Orthodontics was favourably reviewed by Professor Kokich of the University of Washington, who said, “I like this study”. In 2011, he published a paper on 3-D facial anaylsis. Dr Wholley is the first orthodontist in WA to be actively involved in the “Perth Face Space Project” and associated research using 3-D technologies.
In addition to private practice, Chris is a Consultant at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in the Cleft Lip Palate Unit and the Craniofacial Unit.
Chris' study and experience support his goal to achieve the very best for his patients. Recognising the importance of encouraging our young patients, Chris is happy to answer questions they may have about pursuing Dental studies.
